Summary: | According to the analysis result from the external consultant since 2019, the company has been
justified for having one common issue in managing human capital, that is leadership. The issue
of leadership puts the company in critical situations for developing other areas such as talent
development, performance appraisal, and corporate culture internalization. Along with this
current situation, the study of leadership specifically in the practice of leadership effectiveness
remains important to follow.
The purpose of this research is to help PT Pindad (Persero) in the area of work to take important
action in order to solve the issue of leadership. The applied research method in this study is a
quantitative method by distributing questionnaires to the selected respondent in the company. The
respondent is selected using stratified random sampling methods for two group of respondents,
the leaders and the subordinates. The leaders are required to do self-assessment while the
subordinates are supposed to evaluate the behaviour of their leaders in the directorate collectively.
The collective result of this research stated that at the corporate level the company has the specific
issue about the ability of a leader to convert complex problems in the real world into an algorithm
or statistical models to draw conclusions. This issue is explained in question number 26 or defined
as P26 with 4.18 points, the lowest number of the result. Moreover, this research has found eight
specific issues of leadership effectiveness in the company. In accordance with those findings, this
research has been completed with alternative solutions and an implementation plan for the
company to be considered in taking action and solving the issue. |
