Each design has its flight characteristics so that the flight performance will be different. UAV flight performance are important to be analyzed to determine the ability and efficiency of UAVs in carrying out its mission. In this case, the UAV flight performance analyzed was at climb, cruise, and gliding conditions. One of the many methods to analyze them is by using computational simulation. To run this simulation requires designing a UAV model. This method is cheaper and safer than the experimental method. However, if using computational simulation, the UAV needs several assumptions to approach the real condition and the simulation depends on the ability of the computer. The software used is the X-Plane11 flight simulator and the design of the UAV model was performed using Plane Maker software. The UAV model designed was fixed-wing UAV Sweeper. After the Sweeper model is made, the Sweeper model can be flown on the X-Plane11, so that aircraft characteristics data at climb, cruise, and gliding conditions can be obtained. Analysis shows that the maximum endurance and range of Sweeper aircraft are 78 minutes and 72 kilometers. text |
