Cirata reservoir is located between Saguling Reservoir and Jatiluhur Reservoir. Besides its use as an electric power generator, Cirata Reservoir is also used for fish cultivation using floating net. The rise of fish cultivation activity using floating net gives a positive impact to the increasing fish production, business opportunities, job opportunities, and fish husbandry income. On the other hand, the rise of fish cultivation activity using floating net passes over the supporting capacity of reservoir, hence it can cause a problem to the water resources conservation-both in the reservoir and the fish business itself. The aim of this research is to observe the influence of floating net fish aqua culture on the concentration of several water quality parameters. Sampling was done on April and May 2007. The research was carried out by stratified sampling method. Samples were collected at ten sampling point in three different depths consist of surface, 9 meters, and 0.8 of the total depth. The activity of floating net fish aqua culture gave a significant effect to the content of Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), and inorganic nitrogen, while the content of heavy metal did not influenced by the activity on floating net. text |
