One of the efforts in evaluating the quality of the urban environment is to analyze visual quality in existing conditions, mainly to determine the visual character and quality of the area. As the capital of East Kalimantan, Samarinda City is the most important area and the hub of government, as well as the heart of national activities (PKN). Because of the density of urban development, the visual quality of the landscape is often overlooked. This is in direct contradiction to the city's status as a capital city as well as the face of East Kalimantan Province. This study is simply an attempt to improve the visual quality of the urban landscape by evaluating the various components that make up the urban landscape. The goal of this research is to identify and analyze the landscape components along the corridor, as well as the character and visual quality of the urban landscape, in addition to giving recommendations for improving the visual quality of the study area. The visual quality of landscape corridors is assessed using a descriptive inventory approach in this study. A researcher uses the descriptive inventory method to describe the landscape character at the study location. The first step in this process is to figure out what makes up the corridor landscape. The next step is to determine the visual character of each landscape corridor. The final point is to assess the visual landscape qualities in each landscape corridor to create recommendations on how to improve the visual quality. text |

The landscape corridor is one of the elements that make up urban areas and is an important
part of successful city planning. Uncontrolled ur ban spatial landscape planning will result in
reduced in the quality of the urban environment, including the visual quality of the urban
landscape. One of the efforts in evaluating the quality of the urban environment is to analyze
visual quality in existing conditions, mainly to determine the visual character and quality of
the area. As the capital of East Kalimantan, Samarinda City is the most important area and
the hub of government, as well as the heart of national activities (PKN). Because of the density
of urban development, the visual quality of the landscape is often overlooked. This is in direct
contradiction to the city's status as a capital city as well as the face of East Kalimantan
Province.
This study is simply an attempt to improve the visual quality of the urban landscape by
evaluating the various components that make up the urban landscape. The goal of this research
is to identify and analyze the landscape components along the corridor, as well as the character
and visual quality of the urban landscape, in addition to giving recommendations for improving
the visual quality of the study area. The visual quality of landscape corridors is assessed using
a descriptive inventory approach in this study. A researcher uses the descriptive inventory
method to describe the landscape character at the study location.
The first step in this process is to figure out what makes up the corridor landscape. The next
step is to determine the visual character of each landscape corridor. The final point is to assess
the visual landscape qualities in each landscape corridor to create recommendations on how
to improve the visual quality.
