The existing KPC’s heavy equipment fleet is already too old if compared to manufacturer recommendation or worldwide best in class benchmarking, the trending of the maintenance cost per hour continues to rise by 5.8 % from year to year along with the accumulation of heavy equipment service life. KPC will keep using the old equipment due to the changes in import tax and limited extension of contract duration that makes it not economical for KPC to buy new equipment or change to a rental option. The increase in royalties that KPC had to pay to the government has prompted KPC to make improvements to reduce the maintenance costs and maintain the company's profit to achieve a competitive advantage. Digital transformation in Revolution Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT) enable a significant increase in process capability. Mining Support Division (MSD) PT KPC is transforming its maintenance strategy and management into smart maintenance and datadriven decision management which consists of real-time data acquisition and data analytics to improve in predictive maintenance and mobile apps platform to improve maintenance process and labor productivity. Implementation of digital maintenance MSD will be lowering maintenance per hour in heavy equipment by reducing maintenance costs with component failure avoidance and increasing equipment availability and reliability to improve equipment utilization for operation. text |
