Summary: | Housing is one of the primary needs for every human being. Residential problems in Indonesia
include limited ability to reach decent housing, slum environmental conditions and so on. On the
other hand there is an imbalance between the needs and availability of housing, especially in
Klaten Regency amid the high needs of housing but the fact that empty houses and uninhabitable
houses still occur. Based on data from BPS Klaten Regency in 2020 there are 32,098 empty
houses left by their residents, while habitable houses are spread evenly in every sub-district in
Klaten Regency. The problem of occupancy that occurs especially in Klaten Regency is the
existence of a major renovation effort in occupancy, such as the addition of floors that must
dismantle the main structure.
This thesis focuses on the study of residential design development models with growing systems,
where residents get a good quality residential development picture in accordance with
preferencesbut at affordable costs. Growing dwellings are dwellings that have been planned in
order to develop. Growing dwelling consists of two parts, the core and growing parts, residential
development can be done up, sideways, backwards and forwards. Growing home will be easy to
develop if there are system modules that have been planned. The module system is developed based
on the study of existing traditional space modules, activity modules, and building materials
modules as part of the typical home growing principle in the contexts of study.
The research method is carried out by spreading online questionnaires about
Klaten Regency community preferences related to occupancy and accompanied by literature
studies related to growing houses, module systems and habitable dwellings. The final results of
the study in the form of criteria and models of home design grow in accordance with the
preferences of the people of Kab. Klaten. |
