Summary:The Sea Nomads is a nomadic sea tribe of the Nusantara from the Proto-Malay period whose existence persists in the marginalization of the Sea Nomads by infrastructure violence, cultural violence, and identity uncertainty that occurred in the historical period and modern culture until today. The phenomenon that occurred in the Sea Nomads was developed into architectural design thesis of the Sea Nomads Cultural Development Space which was built by various critical discussions ranging from context discussions, reading Heidegger's thoughts, architectural phenomenology, architectural typologies discussions to the latest cultural studies discourse. This paper was influenced by the critical discussion and analyzation based on literature review, field observations, and designer interactions with the Sea Nomads community which formed the interpretation of thought on the Sea Nomads culture which was presented through the design of the Sea Nomads Cultural Development Space. The design of the Sea Nomads Cultural Development Space is an architectural strategy that seeks to provide views and the role of architecture to reactualize the existence of Sea Nomads culture in dialogue and equal relations with other cultures in the world, especially in cultural discourse in Indonesia.
