Description
Summary:National Center for Sustainable Transportation Technology (NCSTT) ITB has now successfully completed the stages of making the E-Trike prototype. However, the production of E-Trike in large quantities cannot be carried out because it does not yet have a production plan. An industry requires production planning if it wants to achieve the desired production target. In this research case study, the target of production level is 10,000 units per year. Efforts that need to be made to achieve this are by selecting the appropriate manufacturing process for chassis production, balancing the lines by applying the Ranked Positional Weight (RPW) method. Furthermore, a buffer system analysis is carried out which aims to minimize starving conditions in the production planning that has been made. The suggestions given in this study are the selection of the appropriate manufacturing process for the E-Trike chassis, line balancing which results in an efficiency value of 86%, and the planning used in E-Trike production by applying a daily buffer system. In the daily buffer system, the production price per unit of E-Trike is Rp.120,000,- and the number of operators needed is 24 people. Thus, if this plan is implemented, the E-Trike production rate of 10,000 units per year can be achieved.
