Description
Summary:Bukit Sandy, located in Bandung Regency, is a Rimau Gerga Lebong (RGL)'s citrus picking tourism, which is not sustainable and requires planning for the sustainability of its tourism. Bukit Sandy has the opportunity to be a place for stingless bee (Tetragonula sp.) cultivation. Bee technopark, packaged as an educational tour, becomes an interesting new downstream concept to be applied in Bukit Sandy as the plans for the sustainability of sustainable tourism. This study aims to identify the tourism potential of Bukit Sandy in terms of the socio-economic conditions of the community around Bukit Sandy, in terms of potential objects and tourist attractions, as well as actual biophysical conditions. The identification results will be formulated as strategic planning for the development of educational tourism through the bee technopark in Bukit Sandy. Data were collected using observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data obtained were processed by descriptive analysis, assessment of objects and tourist attractions, and carrying capacity analysis. The formulation of educational tourism development strategy planning through bee technopark uses IFE (Internal Factor Evaluation), EFE (External Factor Evaluation), IE (Internal-External), SWOT (Strength-Weakness-Opportunity-Threat) analysis, and QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix). ). The results of the identification of potential objects and tourist attractions show that Bukit Sandy is considered possible to be used as a tourist area in terms of ten aspects of potential tourist attractions. In terms of socio-economic conditions, the dominance of the surrounding community is productive age, supports tourism development, and is interested in participating in it. In addition, the results showed that the actual biophysical conditions in Bukit Sandy, including temperature, humidity, rainfall, and vegetation were suitable for stingless beekeeping. The results of the IFE, EFE, and IE show that the planning for the development of educational tourism in Bukit Sandy is in the growing and developing phase. Thus, 15 alternative development strategies can be formulated based on the SWOT analysis and obtained strategic priorities based on the QSPM analysis. The results were synthesized to create a concept for the development of educational tourism through bee technopark by reviewing the site's components, attractions, accessibility, amenities, supporting facilities, regional carrying capacity, and market segmentation of potential tourists.
