Automation technology may replace and assist human on their works so as to obtain better performance. The automation technology applied to public transportation with specific rail lines is called automatic tram control system. An early stage in the development of such system is called driving assistance. The development of driving assistance is carried out by implementing a perception system using sensors such as cameras, LiDAR, and radar, as input for the decision-making system. Sensors are used to capture surrounding situations and detect objects, while the decision-making system seeks and determines decisions that the system should take based on input from sensors. Therefore, this document will explain the implementation of the object detection model from the sensors used, including camera and LiDAR, as well as the implementation of decision making as software to be applied as a prototype of the Advance Tram Driving System. The final conclusion obtained is that the object detection model by sensors can improve each other and provide the input needed by the decision-making system to assess the right decision for the action that should be taken by the platform. Technological developments happened very quickly, including automation technology. Automation technology may replace and assist human on their works so as to obtain better performance.
