The kingdom of Kutai (Martapura) is evidence of human civilization in Indonesia and is the oldest. The history of the Kutai Kingdom is an important one to study. The Mulawarman Museum is one of the historical museums in Kalimantan, the Mulawarman Museum stores various relics of the Kutai Kingdom (Martapura) and the Kutai Kartanegara Kingdom. Lessons on the history of the Kutai Kingdom are found in the 7th-grade curriculum. For junior high school students, history learning tends to be boring, monotonous and uninteresting, if the teacher who teaches it is monotonous, too theoretical, and abstract. Occasionally it is necessary to have field trips to understand better and have broad insight into the material they are learning in class. Currently, the learning system implemented in Indonesia is online, limited face-to-face, and blended learning. Virtual reality-based learning media is appropriate to use to support the learning system. The Mulawarman Museum virtual tour is a virtualized Mulawarman Museum with a nuance that is 100 percent the same as the actual conditions in the museum. Users will get a complete space experience. Users will be immersed in reality (realism) through virtual simulations provided by VR technology. The research method uses a design thinking approach that includes empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, and user testing. The application design uses 360 images and videos that match the originals in the museum and is equipped with information about the collections of the Kutai Kingdom heritage contained in the museum. The result of the user trial is that a virtual tour of the Mulawarman Museum through a VR-based simulation of the Kutai Kingdom can make junior high school students more focused on receiving learning materials. This virtual tour of the Mulawarman Museum has proper values for both students and junior high school teachers. This virtual can facilitate understanding and increase student learning motivation. Meanwhile, teachers can deliver material more effectively by utilizing digital learning media text |
