Indonesia as one of developed countries have a huge interest to affiliate this industrial revolution. The main reason of the movement is World Climate Change Conference result (COP21, France, December 2015). It declared the first global commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Along with it, Indonesian government committed to participating the world's climate improvement by making presidential regulations no 22/2017, signed on March 2017. There is a reference in the regulation to arrange the development of hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles which is called General National Energy Plan. The goal is to meet the target of reducing air pollution and dependence on fossil fuels used by motorcycles as the largest means of transportation user in Indonesia. The emergence of electric motorcycles as an innovation product is allegedly one of the ways to solve these problems. Therefore, a research related to the identification of changes in people's behaviour on the early stages of the “electric vehicle era " need to do, It gives pictures about various difficult problems faced by modern society . The purpose of the research on technological adaptation by the use of motorcycles from the combustion engine system to the electric motor is to provide an overview of how electric motorcycles can be accepted by Indonesian society. It will give input to the government and the world of the two-wheeled industry regarding the design preferences of electric motorcycles which are expected by the Indonesian people, so that the penetration of electric vehicles goes well. Identification method used in this research which are related to basic needs of the change from combustion motorcycles to electric motorcycles are quantitative research ( for determining the location of surveys ) and qualitative research (as the main research ) namely ethnography which consists of an observation process, diaries, in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The result of the research indicate a differences in perspective on the object research. A perception that electric motorcycles are more sophisticated due to the absence of sound, differences in performance, and differences in energy charging treatment , can change the behavior of participants while driving. This research is designed as an initial process of research and development on electric motorcycle products and can be developed in the next researchs. text |
