Summary: | With the development of technology, Indonesia have entered the era of disruption and become
part of the information society. This has a major impact on the economic, social, and cultural
ecosystem, especially in employment. The times of the information society provides the potential for
skill development, new forms of jobs and work, opportunities for more flexible work styles and better
work-life balance. Companies continue to grow, as well as a new generation of workforce with new
values and new styles of working. This raises a new problem – companies and workers need
workspaces that can accommodate their lifestyle and work style, unlike the typical office building that
we are familiar with.
The architectural solution to this problem is a project to redefine office design so that it fits into
Indonesia's information society today. According to literature studies and user analysis, several issues
that are important for building users and information society emerged, namely work values, working
culture, new work styles, information society needs, and basic office needs. The current working style
has also changed to be more flexible in terms of space and time, especially with the help of technology.
All of this is inseparable from the need for the office to remain a productive and economically efficient
environment for the company.
The above matters are expected to be accommodated in this 25-floor office building project. This
project was initiated by a co-working space company and is located in West Cilandak, South Jakarta
with a site area of 10,800 m2.
The chosen location is one of the most active commercial clusters in the nation’s capital with good accessibility. The functions supported by this building are office functions as well as office supporting facilities and lifestyle facilities. The implementation of architectural solutions to the issues mentioned earlier is to create a productive environment and support an innovative and collaborative culture through flexible workspaces, both spatially and in terms of working environment so that users can choose the most suitable work environment to support their activities. This project is expected to become an ideal office building model for the Indonesian information society. |
