Summary: | The basic key for a Muslim is to be able to read the Qur'an by recognizing the
hijaiyah letters from an early age. However, through the commonly used classical
learning methods, still not enough to facilitate the optimal learning process. This is
marked by the emergence of various problems in children learning, such as the lack
of children's attention and the frequent phonology of hijaiyah letters. Therefore, we
need a method and other media as an alternative that can facilitate the light and
fun learning process, one of kind is edutainment animation. This study aims to
design an edutainment animations that can improve the ability to recognize and
read hijaiyah letters for early childhood. In this design, uses the relevance method
which consists of content aspects, learning model aspects and media aspects that
are interconnected and related. These three aspects include in introduction of 29
hijaiyah letters, delivered through 3D animation, using the sound method (tariqah
shautiyyah), through the association of hijaiyah letters with animal
characterization. The stages in this design include the design thinking method, with
descriptive qualitative approach, starting from the empathize, define, ideate,
prototyping, and user testing stages. The process of data collection by literature
study, interviews and observations. Findings based on previous literature and
animation studies show that the prevalence of nursery rhymes which includes 3R's
elements (rhymes, rhythm and repetition) is an element that must be included in the
design of edutainment animation media, so the learning idea can be well received
by children. In this animation, the process of delivering rhymes, rhythm and
repetition, is carried out through a series of visual storytelling which includes three
elements, namely: narrative elements, visual elements and sound elements.
Narrative elements use a storytelling style that conveyed by character-to-character
dialogue, character-to-animal dialogue and characterizations. The sound element
uses backsound, rhymes, rhythm and repetition as a strategy for remembering the
material, while the visual element includes cinematography, mise-en-scene and
cartoon style 3D animation visuals. |
