Where the directors and surveyor supervisors at PT. IMOS Indonesia is looking for a surveyor to be employed if there is a survey project requested by the ship insurance company.
In this study, researchers examined the current recruitment of outsource surveyor PT. IMOS Indonesia and what recruitment methods can be develop. In addition to providing suggestions for surveyor recruitment patterns that can be carried out by companies that are the subject, so that companies can compete and have more value compared to their competitors in the shipping survey industry. It can be seen from this research, PT. IMOS Indonesia uses James Coleman's social network theory in its traditional surveyor recruitment process. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with semi-structured interviews. The technique in selecting informants is by purposive method, namely the researcher has determined the informant who is considered to know enough and the researcher becomes a participant as observer. Data collection techniques used two ways, namely primary and secondary, where primary data was obtained in-deep interview with the director of PT. IMOS Indonesia. Meanwhile, secondary data has been collected through PT. IMOS Indonesia website, PT. IMOS Indonesia project reports, news, articles and other related websites to support this research.
There are several recommendations and suggestions in getting a competitive surveyor in their field, PT. IMOS Indonesia should focus on its selection method. In addition, a written contract between PT. IMOS Indonesia and its prospective surveyors must also be clear and transparent. And also PT. IMOS Indonesia is recommended to create a good surveyor ecosystem that can be a competitive value, where every surveyor recruited can be given training or self-development that applies to ship surveyors. With that PT. IMOS Indonesia will benefit from having a large surveyor database owned by PT. IMOS Indonesia, the company's competence will be greater and can easily compete in the shipping surveyor industry. |
