Description
Summary:DKI Jakarta with its population density has a high interest in public space to gather, interact, doing sports, and recreational activities also in demand. However, the limited space in urban areas affecting the unique phenomenon in capital city. The high interest of sports especially football makes the youth frequently founded using negative space in the cities to play such as alley, streets, main road, even under the bridge. This shows that there is a gap between public interest and participation, so that a space is needed as sports facilities for youth development based on grassroots football. It is expected to be a medium for community to increase the level of participation in sports. Moreover, the design aims to provide youth football coaching as the smallest (local) level that can be used inclusively by everyone. It is a fictional project as an effort from Jakarta City Government with Dispora in partner with Persija Jakarta to provide a public spaces for North Jakarta regional scale. It is the space for grassroots football inherited as sport facility that provide a football stadium type c (capacity max 5000 seats), multifunction facilities, field, park, and running track. Located in South Rawa Badak, Koja the project titled as football expression for community that integrated to local professional football club with site area 45.000 m2. Improvement quality of the space is based on the context of the site being close to the water reservoir and strategic middle-class residential areas. The three main design issues for the project are functionality, zoning, and safety to obtain a public space attracting people to come, exercise, and give their best performance. The design needed a dynamic space that is easily accessible, flexible in function, and friendly to use by all groups. Mobius stripe is being used as a composition of spatial organization, circulation, and the programming as geometric representation that are interconnected and showing infinite flexibility (infinite loop).
