Various prototypes of EIS instruments have been developed but most of them still have a limited range of test frequencies and measurement ranges while using electronic components that are difficult to find on the market. In this thesis, a prototype of an impedance spectroscopy instrument has been developed utilizing electronic components available in the market. This prototype works in potentiostat mode, capable of sourcing sinusoidal test signal (with a frequency of 100 Hz to 100 kHz and an amplitude of 10 mV – 1 V) and capable of measuring voltage (from 10 mV – 1 V), current (from 1 A to 10 mA) and phase angle (from 180o to 180o) allowing for complex impedance measurements from 10 ? to 100 k?. Performance of this instrument is fully supported by the Arduino microcontroller module so that the impedance measurement data can be displayed on the computer. The test results using several resistors and capacitors in series and/or parallel show conformity with the simulation results with an average error of less than 5%. Thus, the developed EIS instrument is believed to be able to provide accurate test results. text |
