Summary: | Calcification of the Bones or Osteoporosis is a condition where bone density decreases and
this disease is usually carried by the elderly. The type of Osteoporosis that the author chooses
is Postmenopausal Osteoporosis because women are the most common sufferers of
Osteoporosis. This disease also causes the sufferer to become stooped because the bones are
not strong enough to support the weight anymore. In Indonesia, women have a risk of
osteoporosis 4 times higher than men. This condition makes it difficult for people with
disabilities to change positions from sleeping, to sitting to standing, and vice versa.
The change of position is also accompanied by a change of place, namely from a bed to a
regular chair, and followed by walking using a cane, also requiring the patient to at least
stand and sit in the chair provided. The product precedence available in the community is
only focused on being used in hospitals, and can only be used for shifting positions from
sleeping to sitting and has not been developed properly. Because of these factors, research
was conducted to find design solutions that are suitable for people with disabilities, and
products that can be used in other places, including homes.
The research methodology to be carried out is qualitative, and it is hoped that this research
will produce a prototype of a chair that can function as a bed and a tool to help people stand
up so that there is less movement of positions that can be painful for peop |
