Summary: | The COVID-19 pandemic has changed many things in people's lives, including people's behaviour in shopping. Previous findings that showed an increase in a transaction in the online market during the pandemic indicated a change in consumer behavior shifting to online shopping. One of them is in the product category of health products.
This study seeks to see these effects and to find things that are of concern to the public when shopping for health products online by exploring several aspects: 1) Consumer's insight on online shopping for health products, 2) Perception on pandemic effect on shopping frequency, and 3) Behaviour of online shopping for health products. In addition, hypothesis testing is also carried out on the aspects that shape the behaviour found. The analysis of this behaviour-forming aspect is carried out using a theory-planned behaviour (TPB) approach. By knowing the forming aspects of online shopping behaviour, it is hoped that aspects that need to be improved can be identified so better online shopping behaviour for health products can be shaped. This can be an input for the implementation of public education conducting by BPOM.
The methodology was quantitative using data collection with online surveys. The survey uses a non-probability sampling design, a combination of convenience, voluntary, and snowball sampling to get as many participation responses as possible within period of time conducting the survey. Questionnaires were distributed with the target of survey respondents being Indonesian citizens of productive age internet users (aged 15-60 years) who have worked. Using both descriptive statistical analysis techniques to analyse data by describing the data that has been collected and model hypothesis testes using SEM with Lisrel.
Analysis of the data from this survey shows that there has been an increase in online shopping for health products during the pandemic, especially for supplement/vitamin products. Indonesian FDA needs to anticipate these external changes so that online monitoring can be targeted and more effective. Based on the analysis of the TPB theory, the factors that forming consumer behaviours are Attitude toward behaviour (ATB), Subjective Norm (SN) and Perceived behavioural control (PBC). In order from the most significant to have an influence on the formation of intentions to behave, they are attitude toward behaviour, subjective norm and perceived behavioural control. Based on the analysis also founded several things that can be recommendations for public education carried out by Indonesian FDA, especially for consumers online shopping for health products and for business actors who sells products online. |
