The Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (Indonesian FDA, commonly mentioned as Badan POM/BPOM in Bahasa Indonesia) is a non-ministerial government agency committed to bureaucratic reform, responsible for supervising the distribution of drugs and food in Indonesia. BPOM is one of the few government agencies that have a wealth of data on drugs and food, processes the data into information that is easily accessible and can be used as policy outputs to support organizational performance. As a result, knowledge management is required at BPOM. The subject of this study is BBPOM Semarang, a BPOM work unit based in Central Java. It covers a large geographic area, but has limited human resources, making knowledge management critical for organizational performance improvement. The purpose of this study was to ascertain BBPOM Semarang's readiness to implement knowledge management successfully. The study employed a quantitative method by conducting a survey using the APO KM as a KM Readiness assessment tool and the qualitative process entails conducting interviews. According to the study's findings, BBPOM Semarang's KM Readiness level was determined to be level 4, namely Refinement, indicating that the application of knowledge management at BBPOM Semarang is still being evaluated and improved. However, from the result of the interview, the current application of KM has not been able to persuade all civil servants to adopt a culture of knowledge sharing. Increase awareness and form a mindset, socialization of KM, dan formalize mentoring are examples of solutions provided to build a mindset, culture of knowledge, capture knowledge, and avoid knowledge loss due to employee mutations. text |
