Summary:ABSTRACT SEAMLESS INTERACTION BETWEEN USER AND HOME AUTOMATION ENVIRONMENT By Wildan Arasid NIM: 23219340 (Master’s Program in Electrical Engineering) The Home Automation system aims to simplify work and provide comfort to its users, to achieve this goal it is necessary to use the right human-machine interaction. Each type of interaction has its own advantages and disadvantages, all influenced by the situation, conditions and user needs. In this research, an Android-based application is designed that provides several types of interactions to give users flexibility in controlling the house. The available interactions are text menu button interactions, voice command interactions and Augmented Reality interactions. After the application is designed, then the application is tested using functional testing (black box testing) and system usability testing by measuring the error rate (effectiveness) and time (efficiency), then the System Usability Survey (SUS) questionnaire is distributed to respondents to evaluate the usability of the application. Based on functional testing, the application can function as intended. Then the results of the application usability test show that each interaction can complement each other with the advantages and disadvantages of each interaction, besides that this application gets an SUS score of 78.25 which can be categorized as an application that is feasible to use.
