Automotive industry is a global industry that has already bit by bit implementing IoT as entering industry 4.0 PT CKD Trading Indonesia (CKDTI) is the country branch office of CKD Corporation Japan in Indonesia with product brand is CKD. The company is playing the important role of the country’s national plan to successfully implementing IoT as the requirement for Industry 4.0 in automotive manufacturing. Therefore, CKDTI needs a comprehensive strategy formulation process. This final assignment focuses on developing scenario planning as a vision and insight for CKDTI’s decision maker to challenge the long-term strategy. As the result finding, market demand and government regulation become the most two critical and uncertain factors for CKDTI for the long run. These two factors create the scenario matrix and form the scenario, they are Confession of Shopaholic, War of the Worlds, Endgame and The Pursuit of Happiness. Implications and options from each scenario are explored to identify the alternative strategies. Early warning signals are developed to address the movement of current condition toward one scenario to others. As the conclusion of this research, three strategic imperatives are defined as long term joint venture with competitor to exploit the potential in automotive industry, develop product with IoT specification as automotive industry needed, long term planning for establishing government relationship and create marketing planning to increase IoT brand recognition. text
