DESIGN OF URBAN ECOTOURISM ON WATERFRONT PEKALONGAN CITY THAT ADAPTIVE TO TIDE FLOOD DISASTER

Pekalongan is one of the coastal cities located on the north side of Java Island precisely in central Java province. This city is famous for its tourist destinations including coastal tourism located in the seaside area of Pekalongan city. The area on the seafront of this city is very strategic because there are many large activities such as PNP Port, Fish Auction Place, Fish Market, Technopark, Mangrove Forest Tourism etc. The government has also directed the region through RTRW to become a center of maritime tourism. But because of the phenomenon of tidal floods that occur in the region resulting in the development of the region tends to be slow. So there needs to be a tourist area design that is adaptive to rob flooding. Based on data found the height of high tide floods that occur per year 2020 is about 20cm. It indirectly impacts economic, social and environmental aspects. Therefore, the concept of urban ecotourism development is used where this approach aims to balance these three aspects of the instability due to flooding that occurs. The study area is designed with the concept of eco-tourism because eco-tourism is a development of nature-based tourism involving several elements such as recreation, education and community involvement that can increase income so as to support the emergence of economic opportunities. The functional activities of the area are divided into 3, namely recreation, shelter and work. So that the region can be economically, socially and environmentally sustainable.
