CITY PARK PLANNING BASED ON ECOLOGICAL DESIGN PRINCIPLES (CASE STUDY: AL-JABBAR MOSQUE AREA, GEDEBAGE)

The park is a green open space that has a function as a place that facilitates the activities of the surrounding community. The function of the park in the city, in addition to being a place of interaction and socialization also plays a role in improving the quality of the urban environment through its ecological functions. The rapid development of bandung city from year to year resulted in an increase in average air temperature. The increase in microclimate is also influenced by the location of the park located around motor vehicle transportation lines, so that the consumption of O2 needed by the community mixes with other pollutant gases produced from factory and motor vehicle fumes. If the park's response to pollutants is inadequate, then the longer the microclimate in the city of Bandung will increase. Accordance to RTRW of Bandung city in 2011 - 2031, Gedebage is planned to become the new center of government and economy. In the area, a provincial mosque has begun to be built, namely Masjid Al-Jabbar which is a proposal from the Governor to become a Landmark in the Gedebage area. Landmar area spatially, is a green open space that has a lake that is quite large. With the increase in microclimate, the function of green open spaces becomes very important, in addition to being a gathering place for the surrounding community, it also serves as a buffer and supplier of enough oxygen to lower the microclimate. Ecological design is a design concept that prioritizes ecological functions so as to minimize damage to nature. Ecological design provides a design that is healthy, comfortable and close to nature, this is needed considering the air quality and urban environment that every year continues to decline due to the lifestyle of polluted city people. With this concept, it is expected that the function of green open space in the Al-Jabbar Mosque Area can contribute optimally
