Summary: | Tunnel excavation using blasting produce ground vibrations that can give an affect to the environments which are the tunnel itself and the surface above the tunnel. This research was conducted in order to analyze the stability of the natural slope above the tunnel due to blasting activity. The analysis was carried out using the limit equilibrium method and numerical methods. This analysis is assisted by software from Rocscience, namely Slide3 and Slide2 to obtain the value of the Safety Factor, and RS2 to obtain the value of displacement around the slopes above the tunnel.
Rock and soil sampling to obtain geotechnical data is the initial activity of this research. It was continued with the vibration monitoring activities due to the blasting of Tunnel excavation with 109 m distances. The monitoring results of PVS 1.89 mm/s, PPA longitudinal 0.071 g, and PPD 0.003 mm. The value of the PPA and PPD are used for input and validation data for numerical analysis in this study. The models which are analysed are then made close to actual conditions, both model geometry and model input parameters.
The results of the numerical analysis show that the value of the Safety Factor on the slope of the tunnel surface before-and-when blasting is 1.474 and 1.247 which can be declared stable. The displacement value from the numerical analysis also shows results of less than 0.5 centimeters. Based on this result value, the vibrations due to blasting activity can be considered not to cause damage to the surface slope above the tunnel. |
