Description
Summary:In the last two decades, tsunamis have occurred in several parts of the world including indonesia. A tsunami can occur as a result of an earthquake centered in the sea at a certain depth, so it causes waves that can reach the land or coast and that can bring a very bad impact on environmental and infrastructure . One of the earthquakes that occurred in Indonesia that caused a tsunami was an earthquake that happend in Palu City with a magnitude > 7 In this study, an analysis of the tsunami propagation pattern occurred due to differences in land cover characteristics. There are three scenarios that will be simulated in this study, namely land cover conditions with the classification of high- density urban with a manning coefficient value of 0.172, then Medumium-density urban with a large manning coefficient of 0.094 and Low-density Urban with a large manning value used is 0.053. Tsunami modeling uses DELFT3D software with an interface in the form of a Delft Dashboard. the results of the analysis, it is found that the impact of the Manning value used in the modeling is very large. It can be seen that the area of inundation that occurs in land conditions with large roughness values is smaller than those with smaller land cover conditions. The length of propagation that occurs in land cover conditions with the classification of High-density urban is smaller than the two smaller land cover conditions. In terms of velocity, it is found that the velocity that occurs in conditions of larger land cover is small compared to the condition of the smaller manning coefficient.
