Description
Summary:The primary consolidation settlement on soft soil is always followed by secondary consolidation settlement (creep) of a certain magnitude. Assuming the creep has a small percentage to primary primary settlement, creep becomes a problem if the primary settlement has a large magnitude. Accurate prediction of creep becomes important because geotechnical design requires serviceability criteria. The conventional calculation method does not consider the time-dependent strain on soft soil so that the calculation results cannot achieve the required accuracy. In this study, three different material models concerning creep behavior have been evaluated. The material models are the Soft Soil model (SS), the Soft Soil model (SSC), and Kinematic Hardening Modified Cam-Clay (KHMCC).
