Description
Summary:The phenomenon of urban sprawl raises several new problems, namely problems with Electric Rail Train (KRL) stations which are transportation commonly used by commuters. Parking problems are problems that often arise at stations. Several studies have stated that parking problems can be solved with the concept of Park and Ride and Kiss and Ride (KnR). This study further discusses the concept of Kiss and Ride at KRL stations by looking at its effect on road traffic performance. By making 2 (two) KnR concepts derived from the approaches in the previous theories, the research then looks at their effect on traffic performance by using PTV software. Vissim. The traffic parameters discussed in this study are delays, speeds and queue lengths on roads caused by the application of the KnR concept at each KRL station in Tangerang City. With the use of primary data such as questionnaires to see the selection of modes used to the station as well as a survey of traffic enumeration on the roads around the station. Then it is combined with the data on the number of KRL passengers at each station which is then used as input to the simulation software which produces the effect of applying the KnR concept at each station. Travel behavior is seen from demographic parameters such as gender with the result that more than 40% of both men and women are willing to use KnR facilities at each station. This study shows that from the application of the Kiss and Ride concept at KRL stations both in concept 1 and concept 2, it shows that the concept affects the choice of modes used by passengers to access KRL stations, where the descriptive analysis conducted shows that passengers tend to switch from using vehicles. directly to the delivery or pickup vehicle such as online transportation. Meanwhile, related to the effect on the level of service or road performance, the application of the Kiss and Ride concept seems to have an effect on all the tested parameters such as delay, speed and queue length. This answers previous research which states that there has been no research that has looked at the impact of the application of Kiss and Ride on congestion around the station location (Asano, 2015). The effect that cannot be fully concluded shows that the application of Kiss and Ride must be adapted to the conditions or characteristics of each location, in this case KRL stations.
