KAJIAN LITERATUR INTERAKSI HERBAL DENGAN OBAT GOLONGAN STATIN

The prevalence of hyperlipidemia is quite high where in 2015-2016 in the United States more than 12% of adults aged over 20 years had total cholesterol levels greater than 240 mg/dL and 18% of people had HDL levels less than 49 mg/dL. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, based on the 2018 Riskesdas, total cho...

Meanwhile, in Indonesia, based on the 2018 Riskesdas, total cholesterol levels in the population aged 15 years 7.6% of the population with total cholesterol levels > 240 mg/dl. Statin drugs is the first choice of therapy in the treatment of hyperlipidemia. In addition to using drugs, 59.12% of the population aged over 15 years consume traditional medicines. This study aims to summarize and discuss research studies that have been carried out in the period 2000 –2021 by describing the effect of interactions between statin drugs and herbs from the point of view of pharmacokinetic and or pharmacodynamic changes. This research method is a literature review that was taken retrospectively and then analyzed descriptively through parameters based on the type of interaction, types of herbs, herbs available in Indonesia or not, parts of herbs used, types of statins, types of test methods, and grouping the effects of herbs on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. drug. The results showed that 58 articles matched the criteria with a total of 31 herbs and 20 pure compounds studied. Of the 58 articles, 42 articles discussed pharmacokinetic interactions, 11 articles on pharmacodynamic interactions and 5 articles on pharmacokinetics + pharmacodynamics, 44 articles produced negatif effects, 7 articles provided beneficial effects, 4 did not interact and 3 were weak intercation. 51 herbs were given singly and 7 were given in combination form, 54 of the herbs studied were found in Indonesia with the test materials in the most form being isolates (25 articles). The Rutaceae family has been the most studied herb with 6 articles (5 articles of Citrus paradisi and 1 article of Citrus sp), when viewed from the number of herbs, the Asteraceae family has been studied the most, namely Silybum marianum, Erigeron breviscapus and Lactuca sativa. The statin class of drugs that interacted the most was simvastatin with 20 articles (16 single herbs and 1 single compound). The most frequently used method is in vivo with 21 articles majority using sprague-dawley mice. The biggest change occurred in the interaction of Commiphora Mukul with Rosuvastatin (AUC 0 -t 3963.32%, AUC 0-Inv 4311.08%, Tmax 6962.5%, t1/2 17350%, Cmax 17350%, Cl 97.76%, Vd 60.65%) text
