| Summary: | Oil recovery from reservoir can be increased by using enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods. This method can be done in tertiary recovery period. One of EOR method that can be used is surfactant injection. Sufactant is a chemical which can reduce interfacial tension between oil and water so oil recovery can increase. Surfactant injection can be carried out by using horizontal well in thin reservoir to increase sweeping area of the reservoir. The utilization of horizontal well is expected to increase RF better than vertical well so the oil production will increase.
This research will analyze not only performance and petroleum economics of surfactant injection but also the influence of reservoir area with surfactant flooding in five spot injection using petroleum simulator, Eclipse. The performance of surfactant injection is known by bringing about the sensitivity toward surfactant concentration, rate injection, and surfactant volume injected to reservoir. Surfactant injection is committed by using 4 horizontal wells located at the edge of reservoir. After the optimum results from those sensitivities are obtained, development strategies are made from those results. Then, the study is continued to the economics part of those development strategies. |
