Description
Summary:Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) is one method used to increase oil production by using external energy reservoir. One of the EOR methods used in this experiments is injecting the surfactant. Surfactant is a chemical that is injected in order to reduce the interfacial tension between oil and water. Surfactants can affect the properties of rocks wettability. Wettability acquisition will affect the amount of produced oil. This paper discusses the influence of the surfactant concentration and volume ratio of surfactant to oil weight to the length of time the acquisition of oil produced. The results of this study can be used to predict the criteria of surfactant used to obtain oil. Oil is used in the present study was synthesized by mixing the oil from the oil field X, aromatic and asphalt. The composition of each material is obtained with a variety of experiments. For the present study the composition of the oil from the field X, aromatic and asphalt are used respectively 20%, 10% and 70%. In theory, the addition of surfactant concentration will make the lower the viscosity of the oil so that the length of time required to obtain the oil will be faster.
