Summary: | Fitness-for Service (FFS) is used to evaluate the structural integrity of damaged components. The FFS contains an assessment procedure that provides a standard-defined method for assessing the residual properties of an in-service component structure to assist with decisions about whether the current component is acceptable, repaired, or requires replacement. However, in the process, the assessment carried out still takes a relatively long time because the entire process is still using the manual (paper-based) method. Therefore, a program was created to make it easier for users to assess FFS. The selected damage mode is brittle fracture for level 1 and 2 assessments of pressure vessel, piping systems, and storage tanks. All of these procedures refer to the API 579/ASME FFS-1 standard. Research methodology used in making the program is the waterfall method, which includes requirements, implementation, and verification in this research.
In this study, the program has been successfully created and verified by comparing the calculation results obtained by the program with the results of manual calculations. The error obtained is 0.026%.
