Water has economic value as well as social value in society. Water can come from rivers, lakes, reservoirs, springs and so on. The fact that the water area on earth is larger than the land does not mean that the water can be utilized as a whole. There needs to be processing until the water is fit for consumption as drinking water. The problem that exists today is where there are still many people who do not have access to drinking water or the quality of drinking water is below the quality standard. This problem is overcome by the universal target of 100-0-100 access. It is hoped that in the year that has been set, 2020, the fulfillment of 100% access to clean water can be achieved.The provision of drinking water is generally handled by the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM). PDAM carries out the provision from the stage of water treatment at the source to the distribution of water to customers. To achieve the 100-0-100 target and the healthy PDAM target is still being developed. Drinking water treatment is needed to adjust the quality of drinking water according to quality standards. Water treatment in an area is handled by the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM). The water treatment is configured in such a way that it can achieve the treatment target in an installation. Surakarta is an autonomous region with the status of a City under the Province of Central Java, Indonesia, with a population of 519,291 people and a density of 13,636/km2 . In managing the fulfillment of raw water needs for the community PDAM Surakarta City has a total drinking water production capacity in 2016 of 899.79 L/s, to serve 58,231 house connections or ± 78.61% of the 505.797 population of the city of Surakarta (BPS 2010 data assuming growth of 0.52% per year). The source of water comes from Cokrotulung springs raw water at 387 L/s, 20 active deep wells at 346.14 L/s and from 3 Water Treatment Plants Bengawan Solo at 201.36 L/s. In an effort to meet the service fulfillment target, it is planned that PDAM Kota Surkarta will increase service capacity, and one of them is increasing water treatment capacity at IPA Jurug. Based on the results of the evaluation and calculation of the water demand projection of Surakarta City, to meet the target of service needs for the next 10 years, a capacity increase of 40 L/s will be carried out. text
