Summary: | Manado - Bitung national road is a road that connects 2 (two) important cities in
North Sulawesi province, namely Manado City as a trading center and Bitung City
which has the largest port in North Sulawesi. Given the importance of the role of
this national road, it is necessary to study the maintenance strategy based on the
Minister of Public Works Regulation No. 13/PRT/M/2011 where road maintenance
is a road handling activity in the form of prevention, maintenance and repairs
needed to maintain road conditions so that they function optimally to serve traffic
until the expected design life is achieved.
This research was conducted by surveying the visual condition of the road on the
Airmadidi – Kairagi road and in the opposite direction which experienced a
decrease in functional conditions. The results of the visual survey were then
analyzed using a combination of the International Roughness Index (IRI) with the
Surface Distress Index (SDI) and the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method to
determine the functional condition, the correlation of each method, the
maintenance strategy and the costs required for maintenance.
The condition assessment results of the reviewed road using the combined IRI and
SDI methods for the Kairagi Airmadidi direction and the opposite direction are in
"Good" condition. Based on the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method, the
Kairagi Airmadidi road section and the opposite direction are in "Good" and
"Satisfactory" conditions. From the results of simple regression analysis conducted
for each method, the largest relationship is obtained, namely the relationship
between IRI and PCI with an R2 value above 0.7. The maintenance strategy based
on the analysis results that can be proposed, such as routine maintenance and
periodic maintenance with an analysis of maintenance costs for the next 10 years
is calculated based on 3 (three) maintenance scenarios. |
