Description
Summary:Deliquification is the method used in gas wells to produce liquids due to liquid loading. Liquid loading is avoided because it can lower gas flow rate even cause death wells. There are many methods that can be used to remove fluid from the bottom of a well, such as plunger lift. However plunger lift makes gas production occurs periodically. Deliquification with mini tubing is the method used by install a small tubing to tubing /production casing. The working principle of this method is to unload the liquid falls in tubing / production casing through tubing in a slug flow pattern so that the gas can still flow through the tubing / production casing without disturbance to the accumulation of fluid in the bottom of the well. In this condition we obtain the maximum liquid flow rate on each pressure gradient. Based on laboratory studies, this method has successfully raised fluids at two pipe diameters, ID 4.65 mm and 9.6 mm. 9.6 mm pipe can lift liquid with greater rate than 4.65 mm pipe but the resulting gas flow rate is also quite large. 9.6 mm pipe can lifting up to 5.98 bpd liquid with pressure gradient 0.264 psi / ft while pipe 4.65 mm can lifting up to 2.48 bpd at 0.228 psi / ft. This method is suitable for handling long-term liquid loading due to high installation costs but low operating costs when compared to using a plunger lift.
