From the phase diagram, as pressure is reduced, liquid condenses from the gas to form free liquid in the reservoir. The condensate is deposited at such low liquid saturation that is usually trapped by surface tension forces and makes it immobile and caused condensate blockage. This case caused a significant gas and condensate productivity loss. The injection of dry gas to gas condensate reservoir helps to maintain the pressure and help vaporizing the condensate to make it mobile. Y field is gas condensate reservoir who has a potential amount of in place volume for both gas and condensate to be produced. Gas cycling is simulated for this field to show the effect of gas injection in enhancing gas and condensate production. Parameters used by this study are injection pressure, injection duration, and injection rate. From sensitivity test and DOE analysis, it is indicated , for gas, the parameter which affect production the most is injection rate and for condensate, the parameter which affect production the most is injection duration. From this study, it is also indicated that gas injection is capable to maintain plateau rate longer than the base case and also capable to stabilize reservoir pressure. From this study, it is indicated that the best scenario for Y field is adding 2 infill wells in well 1 and well 3. This scenario yields 75.59% for gas recovery factor and 35.27% for condensate recovery factor. Best injection well location is in well 5. Best scenario to recover condensate with the help of gas injection is to inject it with rate 10000 MSCF for 10 years. Best scenario to recover gas with the help of gas injection to inejct it with rate 3000 MSCF for 3 years. Injection gas case for gas condensate reservoir is not an ideal method to increase gas recovery, but it is very good method to increase condensate recovery and maintain reservoir pressure and plateau time. text |
