INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/64268 Oil wells with high-productivity performance have high potential to maximize lifting by applying artificial lift. At Captain Field in England owned by Chevron Ltd., a well that has high capacity lifting use hydraulic piston pumping or known also as hydraulic submersible pump as the selected artificial lift method. Using hydraulic piston pump as artificial lift method is quite seldom compared with another method like ESP. To understand the performance of hydraulic piston pump, there will be conducted an analysis by using data from high-productivity well “Alpha263”, Field “M”. By using well’s data, fluid properties and pump specifications, a plot of IPR curve and intake curve of a pump will be made as Nodal System Analysis. Sensitivity of power fluid type and surface pumping pressure will show the best hydraulic piston pump based on possible rate observed at the intersection of IPR curve and intake curve. The optimum value of surface pumping pressure can be seen from how significant the production rate gain per 1 HP consumption. text
