Granite wash is granite rock that has been “weathered”. As we know, granite is one of igneous rock which impermeable. But, granite wash formation that is weathered and transpported has quite permeable characteristic. This granite wash also has secondary porosity, as natural fractures. Oil can be trapped in the fractures and pores of the rock. Hence, logging analysis is needed to determine the permeable zone or productive zone from the present granite wash formation. |
