The growing emergence of those phenomena is another reason why this study is important to be conducted. The entrepreneurial process exploration was conducted to (1) reveal the motivating factors why the women entrepreneurs become social entrepreneurs, (2) explore the entrepreneurial process of women entrepreneurs in establishing and balancing the social and economic aspects that embedded in a social enterprise. This study conducted an exploratory study using a multiple-case study to compare and contrast the cases and to get new insights and the picture of the entrepreneurial process of women entrepreneur. Semi-structured interviews and document analysis were employed to collect the data. Eight women entrepreneurs were selected as the informants representing different cases. The women entrepreneurs pointed out different motivating factors to become social entrepreneurs, such as value internalization, women nature, and role model existence. The findings indicate that there is the importance of their intrinsic values that triggered and supported their social entrepreneurial activities, namely religiosity value and self-satisfaction. These values become a foundation for their motivation to engage in the struggles associated with creating and sustaining their respective social enterprises. The findings also highlight that women entrepreneurs perform the entrepreneurial process for sustainability reason. They realize that their social enterprises have to be sustainable in economic respects to have a sustainable social impact. The entrepreneurial process of women entrepreneur in social enterprises is about the missions and how they struggle to pursue and make it real. They learn how to balance opportunity, mission, resources, and team based on the values to create sustainable benefit for society. A tentative model of entrepreneurial process of women as social entrepreneurs was also proposed in this study. text
