As engagement has a really important role in organizations, it is not specifically exclusive to the context of business organization, but also covers the basic organizational context which is any type of organization, including small and non-profit organizations such as student organization. Liga Film Mahasiswa Institut Teknologi Bandung (LFM ITB) is one of student organizations that has managed to engage most of its members. This study aims to identify the factors behind organizational engagement in the case of LFM ITB and how exactly the organization managed to engage its members through their strategy to successfully engage most of their members, by using ethnographic analysis method. The purpose of this study is to provide insights and valuable input that can be adapted by other similar organizations to build engagement optimally. Result of this study has shown that the factors of organizational culture, organizational communication along with the social tools, organizational climate, leadership, rewards and recognition, bond between leaders and members, opportunities to grow, work environment, management, and organization’s reputation are affecting organizational engagement. Other than that, the role of organization that is shown to be effective in engaging members are by personally inviting members to participate in the organization’s activities and being helpful, welcoming, and often inviting the members to come and join informal social activities. text |
