Description
Summary:The furniture retail industry is an industry that is still promising, this is shown through the data on the average increase in the growth of the furniture industry by 5%. In addition, although the GDP growth of the non-automotive retail industry shows a downward trend due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2021, the retail industry will begin to recover and grow positively in the second quarter of 2021. The level of competition in the furniture retail industry has also strengthened with the emergence of furniture retail companies. local and international companies that offer similar products. PT XYZ is an international retail company that sells furniture and home furnishings. Currently, PT XYZ is in the process of expanding its stores in several areas, including a Bandung branch store which just opened in March 2021. Since the store was first opened, PT XYZ has experienced several problems, including the number of sales, the number of visitors, the average spending, and conversion rates which tend to show a downward trend. Therefore, PT XYZ requires a performance measurement system to facilitate the identification of areas that must be improved in order to improve the company's overall performance so that the company's goals can be achieved and can compete with competitors. This final project aims to assist PT XYZ in designing a new integrated performance management system. Primary data was obtained through interviews and direct discussions with management, while secondary data was obtained from company historical data and literature review. The framework used in this final project is to use the Knowledge-Based Performance Management System developed by Wibisono, D (2012). The KBPMS framework consists of three perspectives, namely organizational outputs, internal processes, and resource capabilities. There are 5 stages in designing the KBPMS framework, namely foundation design, basic information analysis, PMS design, implementation, and refresher. At the foundation stage, there are 4 basic principles and 5 rules that must be considered. Then at the basic information stage, an analysis of the company's business environment is carried out using the PESTEL method and Porter's Five Forces. At the design stage, starting from the evaluation of the vision based on the vision generator, the evaluation of the mission based on the checklist criteria, and the preparation of strategies using VRIO analysis. Next, determine the variables and performance indicators for each aspect. Based on the results of discussions and interviews with management, 30 performance variables were obtained for the three aspects. Then the analysis of the relationship between variables was carried out using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method through the help of Super Decision software to determine which variables had the highest weights. The last stage of the design process is the external and internal comparative review process. The fourth stage of the KBPMS framework is implementation, where at this stage, the authors design a display to display the development or achievement of predetermined performance variables. It is hoped that with the new performance measurement system, the management of PT XYZ can integrate its performance measurement with the company's vision, mission, and strategy, and make it easier for the company to analyze the factors that need to be improved so that the company's overall performance can increase.
