Summary:Model of Individual behavior, also known as MARS model theory is a model that represents four factors which is very close related to the performance of individuals within an organization. These factors level has various forms depending on individual conditions and the environment. This research was conducted for exploring and understanding the correlation between these four factors from MARS model with employee’s performance in the scope of the banking industry in Indonesia during the pandemic period. The object of this research is Bank BRI Khatib Sulaiman branch located in Padang, Sumatera Barat. Bank BRI is one of the biggest governmental banks in Indonesia established since the day 16 December 1895. Bank BRI has commitment to be the most valuable banking group in South East Asia. BRI believes in order to achieve the target; they carry out the best banking practices by prioritizing services to MSME segments to increase the community’s economic environment. This research uses the MARS model which consist of four factors which are motivation, ability, role perception, and situational factors. MARS model of individual behavior is a model that explains and elaborate an individual behavior as a result of internal and external factors. Thus, there is a diagnostic model with 5 variables that consists of 4 independent variables and 1 dependent variable. The independent variables consist MARS model variables including motivation, ability, role of perception, and situational factors. The dependent variable of this research is performance. These 5 variables are used to analyze the relationship between MARS model of individual behavior to the employee performance during this pandemic. This research uses a quantitative approach in gathering the data from the respondents. Every respondent is given a questionnaire consisting of 39 questions which are the representation of 5 variables used in this research.
