STUDI LABORATORIUM : APLIKASI LIGHTWEIGHT CEMENT MENGGUNAKAN SEMEN KELAS G DENGAN KOMBINASI ADITIF MICROSPHERE DAN GIPSUM PADA PENYEMENAN LAUT DALAM
Deep water drillingcementing is different than conventional drillings processbeing used, which deep water has low temperature and fracture gradient, along with hydrate gas threat. Thus, deep water cementing needs cement with a fast liquid:solid transition, low permeability to provide casing support,...

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/64634 Deep water drillingcementing is different than conventional drillings processbeing used, which deep water has low temperature and fracture gradient, along with hydrate gas threat. Thus, deep water cementing needs cement with a fast liquid:solid transition, low permeability to provide casing support, cope with the risk of influx and provide a long term hydraulic seal, also does not trigger gas hydrate so can reduce drilling cost to deep water drilling. The objective of this research is to investigate the ability of class G cement with the combination of gypsum and microsphere to be used it in deep water drilling. There are cement quality parameters tested, such as density, compressive strength, shear bond strength, rheology, and thickening time. The result shows that the increasing of gypsum will increase compressive strength and density, and vice versa for microsphere. In addition, lightweight cement using class G cement with gypsum and microsphere additives has 24-hour compressive strength800 psi exceeding the Texas Administrative Code, that is minimum 500 psi to continue to drill, at temperature 4-100C (40-500F), in density as low as 12.5 ppg according to case study given by author at deep water wells in Indonesia. text |
