Summary: | Happiness is a factor affecting someone's performance. The unhappy feelings can
disrupt an individual's ability to adapt personally and socially. Many factors affect
happiness, one of which is emotional intelligence. The thing is that the result of the
previous study showed how competencies of emotional intelligence are diverse, and
the researcher decided to study the seven competencies with the lowest score. Thus,
this research aimed to study the effect of emotional intelligence on the happiness of
undergraduate students of SBM ITB.
The target population of this study was undergraduate students of SBM ITB. The
instruments for collecting information in this study were designed by the researcher
based on the PERMA model by Seligman and Emotional Intelligence concept by
Daniel Goleman. All the data collected will be input and proceed by SPSS.
Based on the multiple regression linear analysis with 367 samples, the result of the
analysis indicates that self-control, influence, adaptability, and self-confidence have a
positive influence on undergraduate students of SBM ITB, and the other
competencies, initiative, change catalyst, and managing conflict do not influence
happiness on undergraduate students of SBM ITB. There is a simultaneous influence
of self-control, initiative, influence, adaptability, change catalyst, managing conflict,
