Summary: | Indonesia is not yet fully food secure because it is still ranked 69th out of 113 countries in terms of food security. Increasing food security can be done by increasing the quantity, quality, and diversity of food products. In this case, agriculture acts as a means of upstream production, while the food processing industry acts as a means of downstream production. The problem is that the area of land for certain food crops cannot always keep pace with the acceleration of population growth. For example, Kabupaten Bekasi as one of the national rice granaries in West Java continues to experience a reduction in the area of agricultural land due to the shift of land function into residential and industrial areas. Along with the shift in land use, the development of the processing industry has a significant influence on the economic movement of other sectors in Kabupaten Bekasi. Concerning food security, increasing food security in Indonesia must move towards industrialization through the development of processed products. The food processing industry can increase food products that are safe, nutritious, and diverse, so this sector has a significant role in supporting food security. The Kabupaten Bekasi Government plans to develop a cultivation area in an industrial area, one of which is the development of a processing industry center in North Cikarang District. Kota Jababeka as an industrial-based city in North Cikarang, Kabupaten Bekasi, has a strategic location because it already has various infrastructures to support industrial activities, logistics facilities, settlements, and other facilities. Therefore, the authors propose the idea of the Cikarang Food Park project in Kota Jababeka as a food hub that focuses on processed food. |
