Description
Summary:The capital city of Jakarta with the development of rapid urbanization is famous for its routine of being affected by floods every year, especially in the Ciliwung watershed area. Most of the settlers who come occupy the area on the edge of the Ciliwung river which is prone to flooding, so that the green open space as flood control is increasingly turning its function into slum settlements. This is like what happened on the outskirts of the Ciliwung river in the Manggarai RW 4 area, Tebet, South Jakarta. This slum area has received attention from the government because of its strategic location; adjacent to Manggarai Station, various shopping centers, as well as Manggarai sluice gate. This area is planned to meet the need for decent and resilient housing to flood disasters, as the idea was formed to achieve the development of ecological and conservation-based residential areas on riparian flood-prone area of the Ciliwung River to mitigate flooding. This design will occupy land in Manggarai, Tebet, South Jakarta, with a land area of ±27,500 m2. The development is carried out based on ecological principles with educational tourism as an effort to restore the function of green open space and ecosystems on the banks of the river, providing vertical housing for residents, as well as providing public facilities and public areas for residents and visitors.
