The phytochemical screening showed the presence of flavonoid, steroid/triterpenoid, and tannin. Extraction was conducted by maceration, fractionation by liquid-liquid extraction and vaccum liquid chromatography, purification by preparative thin layer chromatography and preparative paper chromatography. The ethyl acetate fraction contain four major compounds. One of which had been isolated. Isolate A gave positive reaction with AlCl3 and showed maximum at 277 and 325 nm. Isolate A was tentatively identified as a flavon that has OH groups at C 5 and or 3, 4. text
