However, the activities of the residents themselves are a significant contributor to pollution of the Citarum River. This is due to the lack of knowledge of the population on the importance of the role of the river itself, which results in a high quantity of contained waste, including domestic waste and untreated agricultural waste. This pollution is also inseparable from the industry's non-compliance with waste water disposal regulations, things that have been previously mentioned are a stress on river water quality in Bandung Regency. The river has become polluted. Decreasing water quality / water pollution in the tributaries of the Citarum River is also a priority issue for Bandung Regency. Through modeling, we are able to further review the existing conditions of the Citarum River, this makes it easier for us in determining the best method of managing the Citarum River. This is closely related in determining the carrying capacity of pollution loads as an effort to control pollution in the Upper Citarum watershed. The calibrated QUAL2Kw model is used to calculate the pollution load capacity which shows the results in the form of a BOD value of 47008.51 kg/day, a COD value of 45157.56 kg/day, and a TSS value of 58544.64 kg/day. text
