Changes in people's lifestyles in big cities due to the COVD -19 pandemic can be seen from various aspects of life, especially in Batam City through an increase in the use of bicycles as a sport or other activity, an increase in bicycle sales, and the fulfillment of bicycle support infrastructure in Batam city. The increasing need for recreation becomes a great potential for the development and use of bicycles as recreational activities in Batam City in a sustainable manner, especially as a support for environmental conservation. This requires a preference or request for cyclists in Batam City to become a reference in increasing the comfort and needs of cyclists in using bicycles as a means of recreation in Batam City. In addition, knowing the preferences of cyclists in Batam City can also increase the sense of desire and security of the community to use and make bicycles as a sustainable recreational facility in Batam. Recreational activities using bicycles require supporting facilities to ensure the safety of cyclists in carrying out activities, especially bicycle lanes and other supporting facilities. Therefore, this study will examine aspects of the demand for cyclists in Batam City in the development of bicycle lanes as a supporting fac ility for bicycle recreational activities to realize Sport Tourism in Batam City. This research was conducted by using questionnaire data for bicycle users in Batam City, totaling 306 respondents obtained online, local government documents, and the results of field observations. The analysis carried out is quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis, cross tabulation analysis, factor analysis, travel route analysis, and supply -demand (gap) analysis. This study will produce a profile of cyclists in Bat am City based on socio-economic characteristics, recreational movement patterns using bicycles, and recreational movement patterns using preferred transportation. The profile of cyclists in Batam City is dominated by cyclists with an age range of 20 – 24 years for reasons of Health/Sports and Relaxation/Entertainment/Recreation. Before the use of bicycles, the majority used the preferred transportation, namely cars. There are 8 (eight) factors that determine cyclists in doing recreation, namely supporting i nfrastructure factors, factors for the purpose of doing recreation, safety and comfort factors, social activity influence factors, climate and distance factors, timing factors, bicycle mode selection factors, and reasons for doing activities. recreation. T he outputs of this research are the determining factors for the use of bicycles as a means of recreation, the priority of developing bicycle lanes, and the impact of developing bicycle lanes in realizing Sport Tourism in Batam City.
