But in reality, fish markets in Indonesia have been experiencing a lot of decline in quality because the market itself is below standard which then has an impact on the decline in the existence of the fish market. One of the fish markets that is facing a similar problem is Muara Angke Fish Market, located in North Jakarta. The fish market, which acts as the largest fishery center in Jakarta, has problems related to hygiene, spatial organization, and the quality of market space and its facilities which are not accommodating. These issues cause Muara Angke Fish Market to have an image of a dirty, shabby, and messy market, and disrupts all activities in it. Considering a fish market has a potential as a tourist attraction like other types of markets and its location on the coastline of Jakarta, it is very possible to incorporate recreational elements into the fish market which in fact has a strong economic function. Tourism elements such as culinary areas and workshop spaces for educational activities can be integrated into the market space through good space zoning. Therefore, Muara Angke Fish Market redesign project aims to create a multi-functional and functional fish market that can accommodate all activities, both economic and recreational functions, effectively and efficiently. To accommodate all functions, facilities are provided such as market rooms complete with merchant kiosks, auction areas, and good drainage and sanitation, educational recreation areas, as well as public open spaces such as plazas and waterfront promenades that take advantage of views to the sea. Java. This redesign project was held to increase the existence of the fish market and provide convenience for all users in their activities. In this project, three design issues are formulated, namely efficient market space, integration of tourism functions into the fish market, and waterfront design. These problems are answered through the formulation of a design concept based on several standards and theories regarding fish markets, public spaces, recreation spaces, and waterfront spaces. text
